Arm and Elbow Dysfunctions
Broken Bone in Left Arm
After my first visit I was ready to come back week after week. The theory of treatment, knowledge of the therapists as well as the general attitude and direction is amazing. I am a very active Triathlete and have seen my share of physical therapists and Mission hills pt and each person individually provided the best care I have ever received. More importantly, I learned about my body and how I can work with it on my own. Highly recommended, thank you very much.
Upper Arm Fracture
Mi first day of physical therapy was quite different from my past experience. I knew right away I was going to receive the right care for my shoulder. Danielle Emhof, my physical therapist, tested my range of motion for the first time in four weeks. Her treatment was at just the right pace for my tender shoulder. That test gave me hope that my shoulder would be normal again. Danielle, at every session, massaged the very damaged area of my shoulder as to encourage the healing process. This was very relaxing and I remember feeling like I was in very capable hands.
At the end of that first session Danielle had me perform the range test once more with much improvement from only an hour earlier. She assigned some homework to me. She wanted me to hold my shoulder with my right hand and place my left over my chest. I was asked to hold this position for twenty minutes without moving. While this was challenging and indeed odd for me I felt very relaxed and my shoulder felt like it was getting the special internal healing attention it needed.
The next couple weeks of therapy had me constantly improving my range of motion and decreasing the pain I felt in moving through these different ranges. While this took many weeks of hard work and guidance from Danielle, slowly but surely my shoulder began to feel normal again.
Just this week, almost three months after the accident, I did my first unassisted pull-up. I am also back doing push-ups, and can swim with minor discomfoer. I am sure this discomfort will fade as time goes on.
I would without a doubt, recommend Mission Hills Physical Therapy to anyone I knew who needed or could benefit from physical therapy.
Chronic Elbow Pain
I was given a series of exercises and began receiving treatments twice a week. I have not re-injured my elbow since starting treatment and my elbow/ shoulder feels better as every week progresses. I have become a strong proponeat of physical therapy and strongly recommend it to others. Thank you to Danielle and the staff for making this a successful experience.
Misdiagnosed Broken Arm
I arrived at Mission Hills Physical Therapy after a misdiagnosed broken bone in my left arm. I just moved to San Diego and was very busy setting up my life. Thus another appointment was difficult to make and I thought I'd only go once. Big surprise.
